Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ arrived in the market in mid-2019 and has been getting good feedback from users in the initial months. Priced at around 70K INR, the latest edition from Samsung is believed to have lived up to its reputation and price tag. Here we mention a few tweaks that you can adjust on your Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ to make it a bit more user-friendly.

Icon Size

The icon size that comes as default is generally too big for the phone and not very pleasing on the eyes. But this is subjective and if you prefer the default size, then there is no need to mess with it. However, I prefer the icons to be smaller than its default size. Steps to change the icon size are as follows.

  • Pinch on the screen with both your fingers and you will see a gear-shaped settings icon.
  • Clicking on the settings will take you to a panel showing the ‘Home screen settings’Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ settings
  • You can adjust the Home screen grid size and the App screen grid size from the options given.

changes

  • I chose the 5×5 grid size and it looks amazing.

 Always On Display

The Samsung Galaxy Note 10+, unfortunately, does not have any led notification light. However, a feature that more than makes up for it is the always-on option. But this feature is not turned on by default. So you will have to go to the settings screen and manually turn it on. Here are the steps that show you how to change this feature.

  • Scroll down the drop-down menu from the top of your home screen and press the gear-shaped settings button.

  • From the settings panel that pops up, click on the lock screen option and enable the Always-on Display as shown in the picture.
  • You can also set a time limit for the option so that it will stay off at night time. This can be set by pressing on the Always-on Display option as shown in the pic below. By default, the option is set on ‘Tap to show’.

Quad HD Display

Samsung Note 10+ has a Wide Quad HD Display. But the screen resolution is always set to the FUll HD+ option. This is probably made as to the default option to save battery life. However since you have already paid the hefty amount for this phone, why not use it to its fullest potential. To change the screen resolution from FHD+ to WQHD+, follow the steps given below.

  • Go to the settings page like mentioned in the tweak above and choose the display settings.
  • In the panel that pops up choose screen resolution and change it from FHD+ to WQHD+ as shown in the picture below.

Reduce Animations

Now this tweak has nothing to do with how your display looks like as mentioned in all the tweaks above but rather how quick the response becomes. Once you press any icons or options on your Samsung Galaxy Note 10+, whatever you were looking for comes up faster than before. Suppose you switch your tabs between youtube, facebook, and WhatsApp one after another, reducing animations will load each app faster than it did before. To turn this option on, follow the steps below.

  • Go to settings as before and choose ‘Advanced features’ as shown in the picture below.

  • From the panel that pops up, turn on the option that says ‘Reduce animations’

  Power on/off button

For some strange reasons, Samsung has not given the users the ability to use the traditional power off button. Instead, they have an option besides the settings icon in the drop-down menu to switch off the phone. And the normal power button just functions as the lock screen button. However, you can change this and revert it to the traditional way by following the steps below.

  • Go to the ‘ Advanced Features’ options, as shown in the tweak above, from the settings menu.
  • In the advanced features select the option that says ‘side key’
  • In the panel that pops up choose the option power off menu. It will be ‘open Bixby’ by default.

Enabling Dolby Atmos

Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ has stereo speakers. However, the Dolby Atmos option is not turned on in the settings screen. You will be able to enable it by swiping the drop-down menu screen twice to the right. Enabling this option will give you more bass to your sound while watching movies.
