The extension is a relatively new one made by the SofWar group. As of August 2019, the extension has a 4-star rating from 188 users and has over 38,000 active users. Many of the previous extensions that were made available on the webstore were found to be useless. However, this is the best one so far.

  • It even works offline. So that nobody will be able to snoop into your browser even when the PC is offline without any internet connection. Remember that this extension is just to prevent users who have physical access to your PC or Laptop from prying. This cannot protect you from the service providers or any potential hacking threats. You can escape the threat of ordinary users snooping in.
  • An important fact to keep in mind while installing the extension is to enable the extension for incognito modes as well. For this, you would have to go to the extensions page and press the “allow in incognito mode” button.
  • You get many options to customize the extension if you right-click on the extension icon on the extension bar placed at the top right-hand side of your browser. Clicking on the options menu takes you to the screen shown in the picture above.
  • You can set the password for your browser by entering the password in the box given. You can also provide a hint if you forget the password at some point. Make sure not to take the hint that you type in is so obvious that whoever lives with you would be able to decode the password easily.
  • It has many options like Auto Lock, logging, Quick Click, etc. If you enable the quick click option, you can lock the browser without closing it by pressing Ctrl+Shift+L.
  • You might have to enable the security mode to prevent someone from crashing the extension and threatening to snoop in by using task managers. You can also set the maximum number of failed attempts at typing in the passwords and the actions that follow. If someone types the password wrong more than the set number of times, the browser will either close, clear its history or open an incognito window.

A minor fault with the extension if any is that you will lose all the open tab every time because the password pops up in a new window. If you accidentally hit the tabs without typing in the password, the entire browser shuts down. You will also not be able to open any other software before typing in the password or the browser will automatically close. This bug is expected to be fixed soon as many have already made the admin aware of this minor flaw of this most amazing extension.
