Design and Dimensions

The Nexus 5 has a clean and simple design concept with a nice and small bezel.  The device measures 137.84 x 69.17 x 8.59mm and weighs only 130g. On the other hand SGS4 is slightly slimmer than Nexus 5 with dimensions reading  136.6 x 69.8 x 7.9 mm and weighs 130g too. The design of Nexus 5 is somewhat similar to S4 but there is not physical home button available in Nexus 5.

Samsung’s Galaxy S4 features a 5-inch Pentile Super AMOLED screen with full HD resolution and 440 ppi pixel density. This says it all about the picture quality and do you need more words from me to describe how vibrant and real are the colours?. The Nexus  holds a 4.9 inch full HD IPS panel with an impressive pixel density of 455 ppi. This is the same display that LG used in G2 that has received many positive reviews about its sharp right and colourful image.

CPU Performance

Galaxy S4 sports a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 with 2.3GHz Quad-Core Krait 400 CPU with 2GB of RAM that is enough for any mobile device to take it into the position of a mini-computer. SG S4 is also a brilliant gaming device as the power of Adreno 330 GPU makes it possible to run any game without any lags and hiccups.

On the other side Nexus 5 isn’t bad at all. Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 with 2.26GHz Quad-Core Krait 400 CPU with 2GB of RAM makes this a real warrior that runs as smooth and faster as s4 .

Operating System

The major attraction towards Nexus 5 is that it is the first android phone that is getting the latest version of the OS KitKat. the best part of having Nexus is that it runs on native android with no bloatwares and you’ll get the updates as soon as they fired off. In the other part, Galaxy S4 has Android 4.3 Jelly Bean which is the previous version  of the KitKat.

Memory & Battery

Nexus 5 does not support an external SD card and comes in 32GB / 16GB variants whereas S4 is capable of holding  a microSD up to 64GB and also has a built in 16GB/32GB/64GB memory.

On the battery side Nexus 5 sports a 2300mAh non-removable battery where as s4 has a removable 2600mAh battery which definitely lasts longer.

In this department S4 shows the real domination over Nexus 5.  On comparing the pictures from the 8-megapixel rear shooter of the Nexus 5 up against 13 MP rear camera of s4, clearly the pictures taken using S4 is much better with more natural colour reproduction and clarity.

The Google Nexus 5 is priced in India  at Rs 28,999, where as S4 continues selling at Rs. 38999. The domination that Samsung has made in some part of the review is compensated by price tag of Nexus 5. It seems to be more affordable and looks like a value for money device.
