Skullcandy Smokin Buds 2 headphones with mic review
The main feature of this earphones is the angle of the earbuds. It is angled perfectly so that it can get in your ear better than other earphones out there. Design wise, it has a transparent body so you can see through it inside of the capsule.
There is one major con with this earphone – It lacks volume rocker button which even entry level earphone these days have. The Skullcandy smokin buds 2 has only a single button which you can use for play/pause the music or attend or cut the call. There is no volume rocker on the Smokin buds 2 – very disappointing.
When it comes to how the earphones sounds, it handles the base very effectively. It really pounds in the ears, you can feel the power with each beat. Surely this is one of the king in base department.
Sennheiser CX 275 S headphone with Mic review
In terms of design, the CX275 has an intuitive and ergonomic shape. They are entirely made out of plastic. The earpiece is made to fit nicely in the ear canal, but the Skullcandy Smokin buds do a better job here. The cable given is very basic and the same thing that we saw on CX180 which prone to tangling.
Just like Smokin buds, the 3.5 mm jack is gold plated to reduce disturbances. Just like Skullcandy, the CX275 also has a single button to operate the headphone which means there is no volume buttons. This single button can be used to pickup and drop calls, pause, play and skip tracks on Apple iOS and Android devices.
The additional cable that comes with CX275 can be used to reverse the polarity of the signals making it compatible to all the smartphones out there which has 3.5 mm jack.
Talking about sound, the CX275 has a similar sound signature of Smokin Buds 2. It is base driven, which does ground the mids sometimes which causes the clarity and crispness. Overall the sound quality is better in Smokin buds than in CX275 eventhough it does not disappoint a base enthusiast for sure.
Which headphone should you buy?
As we already mentioned, the disadvantages of both earphone are common. Both has a base driven sound output, both does not have volume rockers. I feel the build quality is s bit better in Skullcandy compared to Sennheiser especially the transparent design gives something unique about it.
In one sentence – both earphones are similar, you cant go wrong purchasing any one of them.
