Finally the most awaited and expensive android phone came out of the cave. the Micromax Canvas 4,  the direct successor of Canvas HD has released. But this time the Micromax hasn’t come up to the expectations, the first reviews from various techies already given thumbs down for the device. It seems that its all wrong about Canvas 4 even on the pricing of the phone. Here’s a quick review of this android smartphone.

The specifications of the phone are a big amount of copy from the Canvas HD, powered by Cortex A7 1.2 GHz quad-core processor with 1 GB of RAM. The specs sheet isn’t bad but nothing super special.  The device is priced at Rs 17,999, feels little expensive.

DESIGN:

Nothing special about the design except the aluminium casing that surrounds the edges. Quite looks like design of iPhone. On the bottom you’ve three touch capacitive buttons – the menu, home and back button,  also the power and volume button on the sides. the back cover is glossy and thin plasticky nature.

DISPLAY:

Canvas 4 has got a 5 inch large 720p display. The display looks nice and vivid but most people look for a 1080p disaply in today’s smartphones. It has very decent viewing angles but it is a glossy reflector screen, not performing well outdoors.

INTERFACE:

The Canvas 4 has a very standard interface, just similar to a mid range galaxy phone, say Galaxy S duos. Nothing special in dialer, contacts etc.  Micromax unlock is nothing much more than a gimmick. It allows you to unlock the phone either via blowing air into phone or by shaking it – nothing useful or interesting.

Verdict: Surely, Micromax canvas 4 is not a bad phone but it doesn’t live up to all the hype it generated.  We expect the price would come down to around 15k in the coming days.
